INFO ACCESSIBILITY

The trail starts at the ponds in the pine forest. Disabled parking spaces are provided. Almost the entire route runs on the bike path in the pine forest. From the bike path it is possible to reach the archaeological excavations via a dirt road with a gradient of more than 5 percent.

The ascent for wheelchairs is feasible only if accompanied or propelled, given the slope.

The excavations are open to the public without schedules; it is possible to see the mosaics up close, but the passages are narrower than 70 cm. At the excavations there are some illustrative panels, placed at a height of less than 80 cm. At the fork in the climb to the excavations there is a sign for the church of Madonna del Ponte. The church is normally closed, but the description is given.

The route goes as far as Invillino from where you take the ascent (trail or paved road) that leads to the square of the Pieve di santa Maria Maddalena. There is handicapped parking in the square.

On the path are the Stations of the Cross. The parish church is normally closed; reach the churchyard there is a flight of stairs with handrails. At the beginning of the stairs there is a panel telling the history of the church (Those in the Province of Udine).

Introduction:

From the small lake of Villa Santina, take a path through the pine forest that leads to the Pumpkin Pass where archaeological excavations can be seen. Shortly afterwards you come to the little church of Madonna del Ponte. From here, skirting the bank of the Tagliamento River, you arrive at Invillino. Before entering the village turn right taking the path that leads to Col Santino and where you can admire the ancient Stations of the Cross.

Arriving at the forecourt of the Church of St. Mary Magdalene, in the middle of an area that has been the site of important archaeological excavations, take a path passing on the north side of the church back to the base of the hill and then to Invillino.

From the square, turn left and retrace the route to Madonna del Ponte.

From here take the small road that leads to Villa Santina and shortly after take the bike path back to the pond.
